Root Canal Therapy

Root canal treatments are often required when the hollow chamber that resides within each tooth becomes infected, due to trauma, dental decay, cracks or pathology.

Once bacteria has entered the hollow chamber that harbours the blood vessels and nerves, inflammation occurs. This can be a painful experience and requires immediate attention. Root canal treatments involve shaping and disinfecting these infected areas, and then filling and sealing them to prevent reinfection.

Once a root canal treatment has been completed, the tooth needs to be restored adequately to prevent fracture and leakage. This often involves restoring the tooth with a crown or complex restoration.

The Melbourne Dental Group use rotary endodontic machines and files, and the latest in root canal technology, to ensure that your root canal treatment is a comfortable and predictable procedure.
